The story is set against the backdrop of a near-future sci-fi security crisis. It tells of Chen Jiachuan (played by Jiang Zhen) and Bai Fan, two former master and apprentice from the Whirlwind Special Service Academy. Within the Purple Crystal Group, they are hostile while protecting each other's identities.
