Since 1993, TVB has seen a trend of remaking Jin Yong's dramas. Along with this came a series of fabricated Jin Yong dramas outside the main series, such as prequels or side stories. "The Legend of the Condor Heroes" produced the Nine Yin Manual, "The Southern Emperor and the Northern Gai", "The Divine Power King Chongyang", "The Return of the Condor Heroes" gave rise to "The Golden Lion King", and later "Zhang Sanfeng in Wudang" in 1996.
