In an old-fashioned Japanese-style house, an elderly writer (played by Ryo Osugi) lives alone. He once wrote many beautiful and poignant words and phrases, but now his physical and mental state is far from what it used to be. Day by day, aging has made the writer exude a touch of desolation all over. It's unknown when the once quiet house suddenly became lively. Unconsciously, a jubilant girl appeared by the old man's side. The girl's name is Akiko (played by Tomomi Nikaido). She wears a red dress all day long. Sometimes she runs around on the tatami, sometimes she chats with the old man back and forth, and at night she sleeps in his arms, inseparable.
