"Phantom of the Haunted House" tells the story of Xiaolian (Yaoyao), who was staying with her parents in the Wu residence during the Republic of China period. Due to long-term abuse and persecution by Mr. Wu, she developed a split personality and fell into a quadruple personality. As Mr. Wu colluded with the bandits, when Xiaolian was about to be sillied, she was fortunately rescued by the old butler of the Wu residence (played by Li Zixiong) and thus survived. By this time, Xiaolian had already suffered from insanity. After learning about her sister's tragic experience, her elder brother, who was studying psychology abroad, decided to return to China to help Xiaolian with psychological treatment. He hypnotized Xiaolian, brought her back to the Wu family compound again, and recreated the scene of her imprisonment on the spot.
