The film "Full River of Beans" tells the story of a young North Korean defectors who illegally crossed the Tumen River from North Korea to a small border village in China (Xintian Village, Jiangyan Township, Tumen City, Jilin Province). Douman River, known as Tumen River in China, is located on the border between China and North Korea. The protagonist of the film is 12-year-old Chang-ho. He has a mute sister, Soon-hee, an elderly grandfather and a mother who earns money in South Korea. His father died in the Douman River while saving his sister who fell into the water that year.
