Koichiro Shimada (played by Takao Ozawa), who has always held in high regard Dr. Albert Schweitzer, who is hailed as the "Sage of Africa", became a white-coated angel as he wished when he grew up. He then followed in the footsteps of the sage and went to Africa to provide medical services. After staying in Kenya for half a year, he and his colleagues went to the war-torn Red Cross Hospital to provide medical support. There, Koichiro witnessed the most tragic scene in the world. A young soldier held a gun and killed someone, and then was driven into the minefield. The children's heart-wrenching wails made Koichiro extremely heartbroken. Their cold and hostile looks made him very worried. What was even more terrifying was that once the children recovered from their injuries, they had to return to the battlefield again until they died in battle. Feeling a great sense of responsibility, Koichiro applied for a postponement to return to his home country and, together with a nurse from Japan, Kazuko (played by Rimi Ishihara), was busy every day on the front line of saving lives and treating the injured. He is a lonely yet brave lion, standing against the wind without ever bowing his head... This film is adapted from the story of Japanese doctor Koichiro Shibata.[Collapse]
