The unremarkable Ali (played by Matthias Schoenaerts) was once a highly successful fighter, but since he got injured, he has lost his means of livelihood. When he was down and out, he took his son Sam (played by Armand Verdure) to seek refuge with his sister and found a job as a bodyguard in the local area. One night, Ali met Stephanie (played by Marion Cotillard), a beautiful woman who had an argument with someone else. Stephanie is an orca trainer. However, this girl, who has no worries about food and clothing and is surrounded by a halo in her daily life, had her legs taken away by an orca during a routine performance. Men and women who have experienced different lives have their fates unexpectedly intertwined... This film is adapted from the short story collection of the same name by Canadian novelist Craig Davidson and won the Best Actor Award (Matthias Schoenaerts), Best Director Award and Best Screenplay Award at the 2012 Valladolid International Film Festival in Spain.[Collapse]
