Henry (played by J.K. Simmons) and his son Gabriel (played by Lou Taylor Pucci) both love music, but the music they like is of two completely different styles. For more than 20 years, due to his different opinions on politics, Jabelli ran away from home and never returned. Nowadays, Jabelli is down and out on the streets and was sent to the hospital for a tumor in his brain to have it removed. But this tumor had completely destroyed his brain. He lost the ability to create new memories, and his memory was forever stuck in 1968. In order to re-enter Kimberly's world, Henry invites Diane (played by Julia Ormond), an expert in brain tumors and music, to treat his son's illness. Diane found that Kimberly still had a sense of early rock music. But this kind of psychedelic rock music was simply unacceptable to Henry, who was in his sixties. However, in order to communicate with his son, he began to study all the rock bands of the 1960s.[Collapse]
