However, C did not truly leave. He still remained in the house where he and M once lived in the form of a soul, by M's side, silently and affectionately watching every move of his former lover. C's departure plunged M into despair and pain. She wept, became depressed and withdrawn, as if living in a vacuum. M decided to move out of the house, but C couldn't leave. He could only keep waiting and waiting. What supported C was a note that M had once left in the crack of the wall. New residents came and went, and endless time passed eternally.
