General Macbeth (played by Orson Welles) followed King Duncan (played by Erskine Sanford) in battles all over the country and was the one the latter trusted the most. One day, Macbeth won another war. On his way back home, he met three witches. The witches predicted that Macbeth would soon be promoted and even be able to wear the crown and inherit the throne. However, Macbeth's successor was not his child, but the son of his good friend General Bancor (portrayed by Edgar Barrier). This prophecy cast a shadow in Macbeth's heart. Encouraged by his wife, Mrs. Macbeth (played by Jeanette Nolan), Macbeth killed Duncan and blamed the two guards. After that, he killed Bancor and Mrs. McDev (played by Peggy Webber) one by one. During this process, Macbeth, whose hands were stained with blood, was also on the verge of a mental breakdown.[Collapse]
