Orphan Jane Eyre had been living with her aunt since childhood and suffered greatly from her aunt and her cousin. Later, she was sent to a church school run by Mr. Brocklehurst. At school, Jane Eyre was still discriminated against, but she met her classmate Helen and felt the warmth of friendship for the first time. Helen, however, died of illness after being punished for disobeying Mr. Brockhurst. Lonely Jane Eyre (played by Joan Fontaine) left school as an adult and came to Thornfield to work as a tutor for Mr. Edward's illegitimate daughter, Adele. One night, she happened to meet Mr. Edward (played by Orson Welles) who was returning home after a long journey in the suburbs. After a series of exchanges, the two's feelings for each other heated up rapidly and they fell in love. Just as the two of them were about to get married, a truth interrupted their happiness. Jane Eyre, who was far away from Edward, returned home to visit her dying aunt and at the same time received the bad news that Edward had suffered a tragic death. In the end, will these two unfortunate people who deeply loved each other be able to be together? This film is adapted from the famous work "Jane Eyre" by British female writer Charlotte Brandt in the 19th century, starring Hollywood stars Joan Fondon and Orson Welles in the 1940s.[Collapse]
