A man who has been wandering around comes to work as a waiter in a hotel. Here, he meets the beautiful waitress Anna and the eccentric plate washer Gustav. Anna and Gustav have an affair but it's not out of her own will. Gustav harbered a terrifying criminal desire. He named the new waiter Giliap and incited him to assist in carrying out one of his prisoner robbery plans. Anna fell in love with Giliap and hoped to elope with him, but was rejected by him. One day, Anna suddenly left without saying goodbye... The renowned Swedish director Roy Anderson (of "The Song from the Second Floor" and "You're Still Alive") did not direct a feature film for 25 years because of its box office and critical failure. Roy Anderson admitted that the film had flaws because he didn't gain sufficient control over it. At the same time, he also said that with the audience's appreciation ability at that time, they could not accept such a slightly avant-garde film, a strange film that was quite different in style from his first feature film "Pure Love Story". He also thought that this film was as excellent as Kubrick's "Barry Linden" which was released later. From today's perspective, this film, as a cult genre, is easily accepted by people. In the 1996 Swedish TV series "Percy Tala", there is a scene that comments on Swedish films. The characters in the film think that Bergman's "Fanny and Alexander" is very mediocre, while Roy Anderson's "Giliap" is the only masterpiece of Swedish films in the past 25 years.[Collapse]
