The 30-episode Anti-Japanese War drama "The First Paratrooper Unit" is adapted from the best-selling novel "Dandelions on the Battlefield" written by Wang Wai Ma Jia. This is the third time that his work has been adapted into a TV series after "Chinese Cavalry" and "Militia Ge Er Dan". The book uses "dandelion" as a metaphor for paratroopers dancing in the air above the battlefield. It tells the story of the protagonist CAI Zhicheng, who joined the army during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and became one of the first paratroopers in China. He experienced the fierce Battle of Songshan and the surrender ceremony in Nanjing. Eventually, between the conflict of faith and reality, he chose to join the Communist Party of China, allowing the "dandelion" to continue to fly in the air above the People's Republic.[Collapse]
