Bangkok is a metropolis and also a city that never sleeps. The city center, Tenya Road, is a red-light district where Japanese men can be seen everywhere along the roadside. Luke is one of the top stars in the red-light district. She lives alone in a luxurious apartment in Bangkok and uses the money she earns here to support her original large family far away on the border of Laos. One day, Luke happened to run into the man she had fallen in love with five years ago, a former Japanese guest of hers, Ozawa. Ozawa is a soldier who retired from the Japanese Self-Defense Forces. He lives in a slum and just manages to make ends meet. When Ozawa was going to Laos, Luk accompanied him back to his hometown and introduced him to his family and childhood friends. During the time spent in the small village, Ozawa began to grow tired of the urban life in Bangkok and couldn't help but yearn for a peaceful life here. However, this also exposed the scars left by the colonial era.[Collapse]
