The two brothers, Kim Hyuk (played by Joo Jin-mo) and Kim Chul (played by Kim Kang-woo), along with Lee Young-chun (played by Song Seung-heon), were both North Korean defectors. Back then, Kim Hyuk abandoned his younger brother to survive, which made the latter, who had been detained in South Korea for many years, hold a grudge.
